About Us

We are Project Athena, a CanSat team from London. For those who don’t know what CanSat is, it’s a satellite engineering competition for secondary school students across Europe. We have to design our own satellite and two missions that it would carry out.

Our primary mission is to take temperature, pressure and humidity, and Volatile Organic Compound measurements. This would be sent to our ground station for data analysis.

Our secondary mission is to determine whether a planet that we “send” our CanSat to has renewable energy potential. We will be testing for solar, wind and hydroelectric power. We chose this mission because as humanity undergoes a green transition, we must also consider how to make future development in space sustainable for generations to come.

By participating in CanSat, we hope to inspire other people our age into believing in their aspirations and ambitions, and to prove that no matter how young you are, it is always possible to achieve great heights.
